Cape Smoke is a Cape-Town band with a very strong Western-Cape feel, comprising:

Bill Knight: Singer, Song-Poet and Musical Activist, who strongly endorses the Tradition of the Troubadour and Musical Journeyman, as Social Commentator and the Ethical Conscience of Society. He Writes in English and the Afrikaans Vernacular of the Western Cape, and is Dedicated to the Nurturing of an Authentic South African Sound.

Richard Tait: equally well-known for his involvement in numerous Musical Tribute Shows, as well as a being a member of the Legendary “Falling Mirror”, and for hosting the Alma Cafe, a Venue which features the finest Musicians in the Country. Richard’s skill at Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Harmony Vocals and Musical Arrangements are widely recognised.

Jono Tait: Maestro Guitarist and Vocalist from several bands, including “Hatchetman”, “Berrisford Rose”, and “New Town”, who brings beautiful melodic Electric Guitar into the Mix.

Matt Catto: the beating heart of the band with his percussive skills (on both cajon and full kit) and his ear for magic harmony lines; a member of the Blundell family clan, a prodigious musical family from Cape Town whose roots stretch right back to the origin of the South African folk music scene in the 60’s,

Jeremy Stephenson: long-time Barleycorn Music Club Stalwart,on Bass guitar and harmony Vocals.

Together they bring a new and exciting treatment to Bill Knight’s “Kaapse Mengsel” Music.
