Dax Butler & Maya-Rose at Cottage Club

Sat 27 Oct. Doors Open 7pm, Show at 8. R120. Cash at the Door.

“I’m gonna get me a ticket- to the Fireman’s Ball – watch it all go up in flames….looks like we messed it up again”.

This Enormously Talented multi-instrumentalist has been making music since the ’70s. He has performed in numerous Bands, including: “the Other Band”, “Nude Red”, “Death by Tofu”, and “Them Particles”.
“Drink in Everything”, his solo debut as singer-songwriter, is easy listening for a relaxed weekend afternoon. Its nine tracks boast meaningful, thought-provoking lyrics and stand-out tracks are Global Warming, Cellar Song and Morning Star.

Dax has recently released his second Solo Album: “Trouble in Mind” to national Acclaim; a masterpiece in its own right, with Stand-out Tracks: Fireman’s Ball, Mary O’Connell and Blood needs Spilling.
If you like music by the likes of Bob Dylan, Paolo Nutini and Tom Waits, grab these gems by a local artist whose voice will haunt you long after the final track.

Dax will be joined onstage by long-time collaborator, Maya-Rose, who is gaining recognition as a talented Songwriter and Performer in her own right.
Raised in Knysna and based in Cape Town, Maya-Rose makes contemplative folk music with a sinister twist. Having collaborated with Kyla-Rose (Freshlyground), Tonya Shelley (Rodriguez) and Lucy Kruger, Maya releases her debut single ‘Perpetual Dissatisfaction’ on 26 October via Kudukudu
