Michael Canfield & Nicole Theron at Cottage Club

Fri 26 October 2018. Doors open 7pm, Show at 8. R120. Cash at the Door.

Nicole Theron & Michael Canfield make beautiful music together. Both have been playing their instruments since they were three years old. Singing, song writing and live performance followed not long after.
South African-born Nicole sings like an angel, and plays piano and ukulele. She’s been influenced by, and been compared to, artists such as Tori Amos, Amy Winehouse, Amanda Palmer and Ani Difranco. She recorded her most recent studio project, ‘Perspicacity’ at the SABC Studios in Johannesburg. Produced by multiple SAMA Award winner Peter Pearlson, and featuring a stellar roster of SA musos, it is an intimate document of her writing and performance. She has since gone on to incorporate new and diverse influences into her work, and her latest original songs are breaking new ground with the depth of their insight and emotional content.
Michael Canfield, originally from the USA, sings, plays drums, tenor guitar, baritone uke and banjo. He’s been a working musician for decades, worked on dozens of recorded projects, and has done everything from perform at the Grammy Awards, to touring internationally, to busking on the streets of major cities to earn enough bucks for meals and transport! Besides being a really skilled and experienced musician, he is defined by the joy and passion he brings to his work.
